How compatable is the SIS 761 chipset with the Storm config.....I had a system some years back, but I cant remember the chipset, and it worked without a glitch from day one till the power supply blew up and damaged it....I am looking at buying a new motherboard that has the SIS 761 chipset..any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you haven't bought a motherboard yet, I recommend that you stick with Intel P965 Express and a Core 2 Duo setup right now...it's not that expensive. The E6750 is only ~$230 and you can get a rock solid Asus mobo (P5K or P5B) for around $100-$150 and have yourself a really good machine. There are newer Intel chipsets out, but this one seems to be proven right now.
But since you're wanting to use it on a Storm, check with Angelo, he built a Core 2 Duo system on a Gigabyte motherboard and he is having good success with it.

I am using AMD because i have that CPU and am not ready to build a new system yet. I will sopn be purchacing the NX board, so i dont want to rush myself here....I am using what I have till then, so Storm and Edius 3.62 is what I am using for now....but it seems that somhow something is not quite right , but real time is great with xplode and photo album..just cant seem to figure out how to get rid of that lag...the curser sticks for about 5 or more seconds, depending on how many filters I have on, but it looks ok on the output monitor....my overlay is just not right, and that nagging sticking of the curser.

The problem is i cant, or dont see a way to change the latancy settings...my MB is a cheapo...Biostar NF4ST-A9. If you know a way to do it, please tell me....I am just frustrated...not accustomed to that lag, but because i had to do a quick rebuild to meet deadlines, I took the first thing that I found, and it works so well in OCHI....just that there is no realtime. I think it may be a driver issue, but I had a similar setup with a MSI board, and it worked well.

I remember myself being a Matrox user, I saw an article on Martox board (it was a link from another source) about a chipsets- SIS was the worst one for video. And by the way, AMD is also not the best choice. NX board is good, but put some money aside for good computer. It's not expencive today.Last edited by mike0130; 08-04-2007, 02:18 AM.Asus P8P67, Intel i7 2600K working at 4.50 Ghz, 16Gb Kingston RAM, Windows 7 64bit, 500Gb system drive, 320Gb Data drive and 1TB RAID-0 for AV, Edius NX Express, EVGA nVidia GTX 570 2.5CB DDR5, 750w ALTEC power and some creativity...

can you tell me how to do it < powerstrip>....is that a program?
Would be happy to get things going right....By the way, a buffer of 32 still has a problem,,,,if the buffers dont get up guick enough, I still get the stick in the curser....only way to stop that is for me to use 'shift + spacebar' pauses for 3 to 4 secs. before the curser moves. the buffer fills quickly, but the curser only mover when it is near full or completely full...just nagging me..Not used to it.
