  • Edius 5.51 install problem. Help

    Hi...

Just tried to install the 5.51 edius update and got this error message. Any help appreciated. (I do have 5.10 installed and runs fine)

    >SetupNew\setup.cpp (138)
    PAPP:
    PVENDOR:
    PGUID:
    $14.0.0.162
    @Windows XP Service Pack 3(2600) IE 8.0.6001.18702

    What does this mean?

    Regards,

    Sheeba

empty the hidden temp folder and then try again

if it fails again, you have a corrupt download, possibly caused by a download manager software

I have windows XP Pro. In my computer I have a C hard drive (for programs) and an E raid.

          Thanks pjsssss

I'm not that computer tech savy......
I did search for "temp" on my computer and jeez, there are lots of temp folders....so if anyone can give me a path to the correct temp folder I'd appreciate it.

            "C:\Documents and Settings\Anton\Local Settings\Temp"

you need to enable show hidden files and folders in windows explorer, tools, folder options, view

create a shortcut on your desktop and empty the folder daily

              Thanks Anton and Pjssss....

              Success!!

I'm not sure what made the difference because I did delete all items in the temp folder.

BUT- the Edius 5.51 install directions said to "run the SetupManagerForEdius.exe file."
I right-clicked that file and had menu choices of "run as.." or "open."

              I was selecting "run as...."
and the update would not install.

For the heck of it, I selected open...and it installed fine.

So when the install update directions say run the file, I should "open" the file vs "run as.."?

              Appreciate the help.

              Regards,

"double click the file" would be a more appropriate description, at least that is what 99% would do
