  • Edius 4.0 Which format for Pal DVD

    Hi all,
This is my first post. I am having problems with DVD mastering. I am printing to AVI (DV AVI) and mastering to DVD with Power Producer. Card is DVStorm with mpeg board. I am experiencing field flicker on movement using this workflow. Old stuff outputed to AVI from Movie Maker (sic) is fine on DVD. Any help appreciated

    Thanks
    John

How about telling us what settings you did use, from the original files to the workflow and the output ones?

      DV Storm RT
      DV50i 4:3 48k audio

      Output settings
      DV StormRT
      DV50i 4:3 48k
      Rendering format DV AVI
      Field order bottom first

edius is operating in Sync mode

Or to put it another way, what settings should I use?

They sound good, but what settings did you use to make the dvd files?

Power producer offers only a few options but what I could check was 4:3 720x 576 and that was it. I used maximum quality setting in the wizard. Yet this prog processes an AVI ex movie maker fine !

Found a workaround Graham. If I use ProCoder 4.0 to prepare a dvd direct or to prepare a dvd file structure, then cut with Power Producer, the problem is solved. The basic PP that I have (came with LG burner) appears have only a very basic set of preferences.

            Thanks for your help

Very interesting since Procoder 3 just came out.
