  • DVD Creator-Chapter brks not in sync with film

    Hello everyone,

I am having no success with setting chapter breaks using DVD creator. I place the 'V' in the timeline where I want a chapters to start, but after burning the dvd, the breaks turn out to be almost a scene ahead of where I placed the 'V' in the timeline. Is there anyway to ensure that the place you put the 'V' will actually be where the scene will break when the DVD is burned? Thanks for your help.

did you mark in and out on timeline?

also, the chapters are normally correct, it is only the thumbnails that are wrong

Edius grabs the thumbnails from in betweeen two chapter points, but you can manually select any thumbnail from any desired position
Compile and Burn to DVD or Blu-ray BD-R or BD-RE direct from Edius5 timeline

Thanks for the instructions. I really appreciate it. Hopefully this applies to Edius 4.5 - that's what I'm using. I'll try it now.

          I don't know what I did wrong
          I set in/out points
put a V where I wanted each chapter
Clicked 'Add a Sequence' then selected sequence 1 and clicked ok
Selected 'Style' unchecked 'No Chapter Menu'
          Clicked 'Edit'
"Please move a Timeline Cursor with Edius. If you push 'Setting' button a thumbnail picture will change"
I'm not sure what 'Please move a Timeline cursor...' means. I've burnt 5 dvds and none of the thumbnails match the chapters that I actually placed 'V' in. Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

move the timeline cursor to the first chapter marker and then click set, this will grab the thumbnail image from the actual marker location

then do the same for all other chapters

the timeline cursor is the thin vertical line that you use to scrub the timeline

Location of Timeline Cursor in DVD Creator & 'Set' Button

When you say 'move the timeline cursor to the first chapter marker and then click set'- is this from within the actual Edius timeline or the DVD Creator' When I tried clicking the 'Change' button in DVD creator, I got that set message I told you about.
I understand where the timeline cursor is within Edius, but not in DVD creator, the same goes for that elusive 'set' button. I can't use it in DVD creator
                Thanks.

                    Problems with the link

Thanks, but when I tried to access the link I got the following message:
"The page you requested was not found on this web server."
I was able to access the timeline and change the thumbnail picture, but when I burned the DVD each chapter had the same thubnail picture. Can you tell me what I did wrong?
