e.g. you can now adjust a 3dpip in a track monitoring all other 3dpips if they are through all tracks either downward or upward.... same with stuff like filters etc....enjoy it

I think you will find that this option was added in v4.24, and works as the poster above said.

        Example:

Previously, if you applied a Keyer/Layer effect on a clip, such as 3D Picture-in-Picture, and then applied a Video Filter onto the same clip (ie. Color Correction), you would not be able to modify the video filter without EDIUS switching the clip to a 'fullscreen' preview.

This new option under Playback Settings, 'flattens' keyer effects when adjusting video filters. Very very useful for keyframing a color flash with a bouncing PiP!

          That's brilliant.

Sigh. I wish the documentation was better so that we knew that such features existed and how they worked.

Alas, the wizards that they are o'er east tend to slip in extra goodies without telling anyone sometimes...even fellow employees.

Thank you for the clear and fast answer.
              This features deserves some publicity.

Good that this forum is back online!

If you copy my example above, with the option disabled and then enabled, you should see the difference.

Like Brandon and I agreed, this checkbox should be renamed...it doesn't make much sense, even to me :D

But as a Canopus employee told me (I think it was an engineer?) you will lose a bit of quality if you use this option....

To elaborate (on quality), it affects the quality of the preview afaik.

(It was either Alex or Taka-san I think that you spoke to)

As for the preview quality, do you mean when lets say 3dPinP is open and you have the previews underneath, and when you exit the 3dPinP viewer the quality goes to the highest?

I need to experiment with this one.
