  • Edius 5.5 stutter??

I have been using EDIUS 5.5 for about 2 months without any issue editing TM700 1080P 60 video. Today I go to edit some video and in realtime play back I can watch the buffers go down to "1" and then the audio stutters.. it never did this before.. what is causing this?? Im running a quad core with 3GB ram..

    Thanks..

check your project settings - usually smaller frame sizes ie 1280x720 when processing 1920x1080 files will do this on less powerful pc's

is the audio mixer closed? hard disk less than 70% full? AV software disabled? project setting matching clips?

This format is not supported in Edius. I'm pretty sure
that is a 28mbs avchd file. It will also take more juice
to run. That is the long and short of it. That 60p setting
          is the issue.

works fine for me on my i7 - but if I choose 1280x720p then it needs more power to rescale

60P used to work fine on my computer as well... it just started stuttering...

I just optimized the hard drive so maybe that is the issue...

How does one edit 1920x1080 60P in this program? Please dont tell me I have to convert before I edit because I can use POWER DIRECTOR and it does not stutter on my quad core...

Just played with the presets and it looks like if I edit in 60HZ 10290x1080 29.97P without doing any conversion from my 1920x1080 60P footage, I no longer have stutter and the buffers stay high.

Do I miss any quality by doing this??

i use the same (well 25p 'cos i am a PAL man)

If you are outputting to the web (youtube etc) then no since they all work on 30/25p anyways

If going to BD then that doesn't support 60p (only 30p/24p/or 60i)

so all in all you are in the best mode -plus now if u do slow mo's say to 50% then EACH frame from the 60p will play as 30p without any duplicate frames and will be lovely!
