I know this may be a sill question thatno one will answer but I am compelled to ask it anyway. If 4.5 is mainly a bug fix (which is cool) When can we see 5.0? Chirstmas? Christmas 08? Is it kinda near or just a glimmer in GVGs eye?

What I meant by that was will it be this year or next? I know how things normally work or have in the past were we would see a full version number around Christmas and a .5 over the summer. I was just curious if we were still on that schedule.

The road map is place for future upgrades but it is VERY early. So to say a round about date would be be without basis in fact.

It took half a year to make some small changes and "create" ver 4.5. With the same speed you may get ver 5.0 in 18 months (that is what people said...) Interesting thing- they already testing it... it's nice with alpha and without 3D PIP- something like Premiere, some other new (for Edius- not for Premiere) features, but you will wait a lot... that is the way it works, don't ask why.
So I believe, the answer is Cristmas 09...

I opened this thread to put to rest the misinformation handed out so that we didn't end with it seeming that inside info was being locked up...

5 is not being tested. I am one of the folks in charge of testing and not a single word in Kobe about it at all.

The next major release (if it is called 5) is in the planning stages.

There is NO date set for bringing it out. I would LOVE to give you a date and what is in it but it just is not ready to talk about at all.

So, I realize that we have a few here that want to look like they are in the know but all the info given in this thread given by folks other than GV employees is just not true.
