Capture Hdv

I am trying to capture HDV at 1920 x 1080i, but all i get in the timeline is 1440 x 1080i, what am i doing wrong, I have project settings at Canopus HQ Full HD, and Generic HDV input at capture,

1440 x 1080 is correct.

Lying?? Quote me some. This cam is quite amazing for it's price.

It's has a 1920x1080 Imager and it records HDV or DV. It does have an HDMI port for 1920x1080 output from the CMOS Imager or HDV converted to 1920x1080.

You are not wrong I bought the HV20 as a knockabout for when I get on tour buses and small planes as I found the FX1 was too bulky for confined spaces.
The increase in the capture pixels makes the HV20 amazing, I have to apply the sharpen filter with a setting of 30 to bring the FX1 video up to the same standard of the HV20, I have a feeling the FX1 will be replaced with an XH1 soon. All my editing is in HDV 1440x1080 PAL and then upconvert to 1920x1080 for showing through a DVICO TViX Hard disk player, people are amazed at the quality

be sure to set project to HDCAM/HDV for best real time performance

setting to Full HD will give you poorer real time

Is not the reason that the camera records 1440 rectangualar pixels but the TV is using 1920 square pixels?

What cams do you guys have?

I bought a small NTSC Canon HV20 camcorder the CMOS Imager is 1920x1080 the recording formats are:
- DV ([email protected])
- HDV ([email protected])
- HDV24P ([email protected] in 60i pull-down)

For correct editing format, it doesn't matter what your imager's resolution is, BUT the recorded format. So if your recording is HDV then your project is HDV which is 1440x1080.

I stand corrected, your cam does produce 1920, so if you are setting all the project settings to 1920 I don't know why it's happening, sorry!!

Isn't 1920 full hd, whereas hdv is only 1440, so you'd have to capture as 1440 and then upscale it?
