  • .. and this weeks winner is..

so who can identify what this crash is related to:

Faulting application edius.exe, version 4.0.0.67, faulting module ctstl.dll, version 4.0.0.15, fault address 0x000456e0.

I'm running version 4.24 HD project with XDCAM HD mpeg stream material - never had this before.

    Any offers?

Never saw this one but in such a case it's always a good idea to check the Ram.

      And the winner is?

yeah I get that one all the time, ive gotten since Edius 4 has been out. It usally happens when I close Edius. I just learned to live with it. Its not your ram it happens on 2 machines I have.

Does it happen with certain clips, I have found some xdcam hd clips make edius crash repeatedly, sometimes its solved by re transferring the files. It may load and play the clips but may crash when trimming or applying filters. The files usually have a blank poster frame in the bin

Never had blank poster frames but I suspect this is related to the XDCam files somehow, as it only occurs with this project which is a mix of XDCam, HQ and mpg2ts files - mmm, could it be the mpegs I wonder?

maybe I'll convert them all and see if it improves the situation.

By the way, when I get this freeze up, the auto save does not work - it offers me the last auto save file, but it's the previous or last "save" so I always lose work - really dull.

This is a lock up during editing, not during programme closure - using vst's as I do a lot, causes a crash on closure almost every time - even more dull.

Roll on a VST bridge fix!
