Oops, now that I re-read your original message and checked the Compatiblity List I find that the 6300ESB south bridge used on your motherboard is incompatible with EDIUS hardware.

You'll need to get a motherboard without the 6300ESB south bridge. That one is too busy and does not pass data fast enough.

          thanks for this information .

          please , can you recomend me , i want new supermicro motherboard , my prossesor chipset is e7525 , xeon 3,6 64bit . and i need minimum 6 sata2 port on it for 2tb raid0 .

          --------------------

i have iwill dj800 motherboard , there is no problem with overlay , i can see the video on the edius monitor .

my problem with iwill dj800 motherboard that there is 4port sata on the mainboard . i put on it 4 hard drive segate 500 gb . i make it raid0 .

the problem is ; any jpg file or any quick time *.mov file on the raid0 cause edius hang , and i should press the ressete botton on the pc .

if i want to use the *.jpg file or *.mov file i should copy these files on an external hard drive .

do you have any ideia on this problem or how can i fix it .

          --------------------

          i used 2 mainboard , iwill dj800 , then i change it to supermicro X6DAL-XTG .

so , what is the good mainboard should i use and work good with edius hd .

          thanks alot .

Personally I would try a less sophisticated Graphics card first. This has cured the overlay problem on an HD system I configured.

The X7DAE works perfect here with 6 Sata ports and NX card

have not tried it with HD card

if i use X7DA3 board , which slot can i put edius hd card , becuase its long card i think it will touch some thing on the board ?

my system now is 3,6 xeon e7525 chipset , is it compatible with X7DA3 board ? or should i change the prossesor also .

                  thanks for all .

You can't use EDIUS Express with these Supermicro X7DAE(8 or 3) because there are not enough PCI-e slots. Grass Valley has screwed the guy who wants to use a proper motherboard like these. You would need to use EDIUS SP with PCI-X card.

he is using a HD card not NX (not sure how he got the card because they only sell it as turnkey here)

the HD card should work fine in the 3rd slot from bottom up

did you restart Edius after each overlay change? This is a MUST!

in that case, the problem is the graphics card or the driver, try another (older) driver

or wait for Edius 4.5 on 8th August, it has all new overlay technology
