The MB I chose is not listed on the Canopus/GV website, but I will be installing my NX PCIe on it nevertheless.

I am not anticipating problems. I like the Asus brand, and I have confidence it will work OK.

    If not...I'll let y'all know!

    Patriot 2 x 1GB DDR2 PC-6400 (low CAS version) @$129

    Total $637

I'm on the fence about buying a new case, but otherwise I plan to use my existing drives and video card in the new system. Good upgrade for a little over $600 I think.

I am working so much in After Effects lately, so I plan to use the Gridiron Nucleo Pro plugin to keep all those cores working for me.

I'll report back after getting it running.
Do you know if anyone has tested the new P35 chipset with NX express?

You also might want to take a look at the new P35 chipset based ASUS boards. The P35 is the newest Intel chipset made for quads, future 1333MHz FSB, DDR3, etc. All available at Newegg.

Thanks Dave, the P5B deluxe and Q6600 is what I'd been checking out at Newegg.

Yeah, I like ASUS too. Make sure you get a P965 Express chipset (I think this is still the latest). Take a look at the P5B Deluxe which supports Quad Core.

I'd go with a Q6600 right now, it's very cheap after the Intel price cut. This thing could be overclocked without problems, even though I haven't tried it myself. This CPU should be plenty fast if you want to go back to HDV, Speed Encoder and ProCoder3 (DVD Preview setting) both support multicore CPU's. I'd also recommend a good CPU cooler instead of the stock one, take a look at Zalman CNPS9500. It keeps your PC quiet and cools it nicely.

At least 2GB of RAM (Go with OCZ) and a good power supply (Another hand for OCZ or Coolermaster).

    Good luck!

I'm about to build another system for the Edius NX express. What do you guys think is the best bang for the buck right now? I'd like to stick with ASUS motherboards, I've always had great luck with them.

    Thanks!
