Getting a Pink Preview Window v5.5

Hello,

I am getting some strange behavior from Edius 5.5 of late. The waveforms, Blu-ray exports failing and a random pink video preview window.

I have not upgraded to 5.51 as I am in the middle of a large edit.

Anybody else seen this? I do not have any plugins outside of the standard plus the 65 cinema presets which have always been there.

reboot did solve the problem (temporally) ??

large edit = lot of (big) stills ??

look (for me) a bit for the ==> "know issue in cause to Edius memory management"

Restarting Edius solved the pink screen.

Large edit being three video camera shoot like I have been editing for the past few months without the pink issue.

I did a search before posting if that is what you are getting at but "pink" did not show anything that seemed to relate. Memory mangement is a liitle vague.

I am aware of the waveform issue being solved by 5.51.

The pink screen is caused by third party plugins, which one's do you have installed?

I just have what came with Edius 5.

I just updated Vitascene the latest patch but the pink screen re-appeared along with a render error over the Vitascene filter. This was fixed with a reboot.

I will update to 5.51 in a day or two when the project is finished to see if that helps.

Uninstall Vitascene and do a restart, and see if it appears, I don't think it will.

Do you mean permanently uninstall Vitascene?

The behavior I have been seeing does seem like a memory leak. The pink screen only shows up after I have been editing for a while and everything returns to normal after I close & restart Edius. I have seen the same with Vitascene filters as well.

yes, permanently uninstall until an updated version is available suitable for Edius 5.5 and Win7

I had the same pink screen, you have got to uninstall Vitascene.

O.K. I did not know an issue had developed with Vitascene. Hope I don't need to use it in the near term.

When is Edius 6 coming out? :) Instability does not suit this software!

Edius6 should be out before the next world cup

Not with me. Have 5.51. My waveform still disappears every few hours and I have to restart EDIUS.

Anybody get hard crash or Edius just froze after you use video out from Photoshop and then close Photoshop? Seems like the video out plugin from Photoshop doesn't work well with the new Edius 5.51.

Actually Vitascene it's a pain in the a.... If you need it, just change
rendering field option from Direct3D to DirectDraw.
