Yesterday I took delivery of my new PC system.
Quad Core CPU, 2gb RAM, Edius NX/HD output card, Windows XP Pro.
All was well and after successful product registration I tested the capture with sme HD video from my JVC player, all was well and playback and general editing was beautifully smooth. Next I imported a project started on another suite with Edius 4, again all was well.
I then closed Edius and went for some grub. When I returned I opened Edius and the spash screen appeared, the progress bar got about halfway then it froze, notthe whole PC, just Edius. A look in Task Manager confirmed that Edius was not responding. I tried a re-boot to no avail.
the next 3hrs was spent re-installing Edius (twice) updating to V4.23, removing software such as Adobe audition that I had installed; all to to good, Edius still hung at the same place.
I thought the USB dongle might be playing up but trying to run without it resulted in a " you have 29 days to register" notice so I presumedit was OK. then I thought the NX cards might be at fault so removed them and tried again but it was still the same.
The PC is going back to the builder tomorrow to be fixed but i'm a little concerned that Edius/NX is a bit flakey.
Anyone else experienced this kind of error?
