    Yes I can, but once I drop it on the timeline the video part in track va also gets a cross dissolve.

      in that case, make sure you untick the 3rd option from top down in first screenshot

          By setting an in and out pointof the section that you want to cut out, and then using Alt+D (rather than Alt+Del) you can do a ripple delete of all tracks without having to turn the nasty Sync mode on.
