Waveform in Sequences on timeline

i have noticed that when i drag a sequence from my BIN to my TIMELINE, that when i expand the audio track there is no waveform display. The waveform displays in the sequence itself, but not if i nest it within another sequence. I have tried right clicking on the sequence on the timeline and refreshing the waveform cache with no result. Is this a limitation or am I doing something wrong.
