Hi Guys,
Sorry I missed you all at NAB. While I am very quiet these days on the forums I read most the stuff here. It's good to see Edius moving forward (Love it).
So, here is the question... One of the things I do in edius is several regular weekly shows. I really like to Keep my files structure very clean so I can see my several episodes of one project all grouped.
EXAMPLE:
raid/edius project directory/show title (Batman)/episode 1
raid/edius project directory/show title (Batman)/episode 2
raid/edius project directory/show title (Batman)/episode 3 etc...
or
raid/edius project directory/show title (Superman)/episode 1
raid/edius project directory/show title (Superman)/episode 2
raid/edius project directory/show title (Superman)/episode 3 etc...
and that is all fine and dandy, but because most of all the episodes of (say batman) have many of the same elements like (titles, credits, trailers, bumopers, still images, sound effects etc...) I would really like to not have to set all this up for each episode. I recognize I could create a project with all these elements and use it as a tamplate. Open it and then do a save as etc... but I really like being able to open edius and then choose the "Home Directory" (Batman) and then name the episode and edius sets up all the right folders as needed "Project" or "renders" etc... So what I am wondering is if there is a way to have my cke and eat it too. :)
I notice there is an "Import Sequence" setting in the file menu. Maybe I could build the sequence with all these elements that are needed for a several episodes and then just load that sequence after I fire things up?
Before I mess around a bunch I thought I would just toss this out to the community and see what other people are doing for repeat shows and file management. I also noticed the Cosolidate project and partial download etc.. stuff and I have never really gotten into using those.
Suggestions?
Blessings,
