That canopus has a own codec for processor intensive formats is great but what bothers me a bit is the size of files it produces. You might say that prizes of harddisks are quite low and that storage is not an issue but to me it is somewhat. I still use a 600gb editing disk that allows me to continuously edit between 4 to 6 (hdv)projects. With the canopus codec it would be just one project.
Is there a way to decrease the size of those canopus hq files while still retaining sufficient quality to go to dvd and hd (mpeg2 -25mbs or mpeg4 35mbs) afterwards?
