  • How many video iHDV in the same time can work?

    hello, i was by my new edius 4 with PCI-E with HDV extention kit, my machine are dual Xeon 3.02 HT dual core with 4 gig of ram with 4 raptor 150 gig 10 K hard drive on raid 5.

    i cant play more than 2 video with 3D DVE FX in HQ file (HDV) after that the buffer came out.

    How many track we suppose to play in same time ?

    also , SATA 2 drive in raid 0 or raid 5 is enoufg?

    Two streams of Canopus HQ (.avi), or two streams of HDV (.m2t)?

    Also, which 3D effect are you using? The Xplode for EDIUS transitions aren't designed for realtime.

      For HD(V) playback speed is everything: Raid 0.

        Although, disk speed isn't quite so necessary for HDV editing, since the data rate of native HDV MPEG-2 is not that different to regular DV25.

        To the original poster - I'd check to see that your 'RT Buffers' setting is at the highest setting (96) in the 'Hardware Settings' window for the NX hardware. And, as Brandon noted, be aware that Xplode effects are not realtime.

          Imho HQ is a must for smooth editing. Therefore, all customers here get Raid0 configurations.
