Usually my stuff is very steady except this time and I try out Mercalli and this filter is freaking awsome, take away all of the micro jitter and look like tripod quality, thank you GV for including proDAD. (-:

Khoi thanks for the post. I'm going to give it a try.
On a somewhat related note... I finally took some time and learned how to use Neat Video. There are several ways to use it but I have it installed as a plug-in for Virtual Dub. To quote Khoi's original post, Neat Video is also "freaking awesome." I would actually consider it a game-changer. What is does is to remove grain. I use canon 7Ds as well as other videocameras. Sometimes I have to gain-up with the EX1s which is something you don't want to do. NV remove ALL of the grain. It's amazing. The image may become a little soft but add a sharpness filter and you're good to go. I wish I had this years ago.
Cheers

The prodad filter is great. I was able to save a critical shot containing some micro movement thru my tripod. I could not determine any image degradation in the final product.Mark Williams

Hi Mark,
Just a suggestion, but try it and then view on a large screen and witness the difference. When I use Mercalli I ALWAYS add a "sharpen" filter to the shot. It does compensate for the slight blowup which Mercalli affects. For HD I use a sharpen setting of 21, and for SD I use a setting of 12. It's just up to your taste, but on my 14 ft. HD screen these settings make the Mercalli'd shot the exact same in resolution as the surrounding shots.
Have fun -

I think I have the same experience as Alan and therefore need to agree that on a really large screen the softer image mercali produces is visible, while performing a great job otherwise.
Lucky for us Edius is RT and a sharpen filter is a good and fast solution.Comment

Yes it is a little softer, but that is normal and a little sharpness will fix it but I'm sure my client wouldn't know that it is softer but they would for sure see the micro jitter if I didn't use the filter. Khoi Pham - I think you'll agree, a Happy client is a repeat client. Give 'em both: a steady picture and a sharp picture. They'll love it and come back for more!
