which track do you want the title to be on? T1, VA1, V2 etc etc

Edius only cuts the selected clip at cursor position when C on keyboard is pressed

Let me add a quick caveat on CTRL T as a shortcut. It you have last clicked on the timeline and use this shortcut, you will get a still frame added to the Bin. If you last clicked in the Bin then the shortcut will bring up your default Titler.

I am not sure I understand your question, but A and S moves your cursor to the next cut point.

If you are talking about layers Try using the up and down arrow key, when you see the track that has your clip you want to cut on it selected just hit the C key.

add ALT before this action and this select clips... not only layers

Usually these combos are pressed at the same time.

Control, Alt and Shift are modifier keys.

You hold down the modifier key(s), then push and release the other key, then release the modifier key(s)

For example, for Control-C, I would...
Push and hold the Control key
                        Press the C key
                        Release the C key
                        Release the Control key

                        For Control-Alt-C I would...
Push and hold both the Control key and Alt key
                        Press the C key
                        Release the C key
Release the Control and Alt keys
