Have you read the manual on how to import P2 clips? It's relatively easy.

i did everything what is written in edius manual and panasonic manual,
i can see the footage in p2viewer by panasonic, i can copy it onto my hard drive, but somehow edius cant understand when i select select p2 from capture menu, it shows the p2 card, but it doesnot show the clips in it, its blank, and i cant click on import button because it is greyed out,
i have installed all p2 drivers, everything is updated,
      thanks

Are the clips still on a P2 card that has a drive mapped to it, or have you copied the card contents to your hard drive already?

If the clips are on a P2 card, all you need to do is select it in P2 Select.

If you have copied the card contents to a hard drive, I hope that you copied everything that was on it and preserved the directory structure and file names. Provided you did this, click on "Add Folder" in P2 Select and specify the directory that contains the CONTENTS folder from the P2 card.

Does he has the right EDIUS 4.6 version?

A pretty obvious question - but, just to make sure. EDIUS 4.6 can only read P2 data if the broadcast dongle is inserted. Otherwise it is NO GO.

Did you add your P2 ROOT folder (which containts CONTENTS and lastclip.txt) via P2 select?

If your folder structure is wrong, then P2 select will not see it.

Also before you use a P2 card, make sure to lock it. Windows and other operating systems add files to it and you don't want it to mess with the folder structures.

You can also import the .mxf files from the VIDEO folder, but your audio will not come with it. You can import those from the AUDIO folder and sync them.

The above is only for worst case scenarios.

Also EDIUS is by far the easiest to work with when it comes to P2 footage. We shoot P2 now all the time and it's super easy.

If your P2 is not showing up then you have done something wrong. Without a doubt Edius has the best P2 workflow in the market.

i can see p2 card in windows not in p2 select

i appreciate all the help i am getting, but i think i am not getting the right answer or may be i am asking wrong question:

                    1. i can see p2 card in windows via usb 2.0, plus i can see all the footage via p2 viewer, i can copy the content yes with lastclip file with it,
BUT i cant see the footage via edius>capture>p2 select, yes i can see the p2 card in p2 select but not the clips,
                    2. and when i try to import video files from the p2 card>content>video , edius does not recognize .mxf files it gives an error " could not open file"

is there any problem with any hardware or any plug-in,
i have installed p2 viewer, p2 installer from panasonic website.

                    SYSTEM : camera - panasonic hpx 300, 16 gb p2 card
Computer : core 2 [email protected] ghz.
2.5 gb ram, windows xp,geForce 8800 GT, HX-E1 Capture Card,
Canopus Edius : Version 4.61 Broadcast

                    thanks

Can you use license manager and Give us a screenshot of the licenses on your dongle?

It's been a while, but I think EDIUS 4.6 Broadcast requires an AVC-Intra module to be installed on your dongle as well.

On your EDIUS cd there should be a program that can see what's on your dongle, launch it so you can see if the AVC-Intra module is there or not.

Download the EDIUS 5 demo, you have 30 days to use it. It will work.

If it was there, the .mxf should load without a problem.

It looks like we are all guessing that it is a licensing problem at this point.

Correct upgrading to 5.5 will cure all the issues. The upgrade will make more sense then buying the licenses for 4.xx
I think the license manager will give the final answer. :)

                              i figured it out,

                              hi folks,
i was shooting in AVC intra 100 mode and i need a licence for AVC I 100 to see the video in edius, i recorded in dvcpro HD and everything is fine,
now i am finding about is AVC I is that better than DVCPRO HD, so that i should put $1000 on it,
                              thanks
