  • NX Expansion Kit Question

I am currently using Edius NX and about to add the HD Expansion Kit. I can find two different manufacturer part numbers online: 600124 and 700770. Prices are similar and some pictures include the 5.25" bay and some do not. Canopus site lists 600124 with bay but I can't find 700770 on Canopus site. Most web sites do not have very detailed description. Are there any other differences in the two products? Thanks in advance for any help.

To my knowledge, there is/was only ever one HD Expansion Kit for NX - 600124.

As mentioned, there has only ever been one HD Expansion kit for the NX hardware, and that package comes with the NX 5.25" front bay.

As for those two different part numbers....

600124 - NX HD Expansion kit, manufactured after June 2006 to meet RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) electronics manufacturing standards

700770 - NX HD Expansion kit, manufactured prior to June 2006, is not RoHS compliant

That is the only difference between those two part numbers. Both cards look the same, act the same, and have exactly the same features and perform the same function.

I thought there are PCI and PCI-Express versions? These must have different part numbers.

The PCI Express HD Expansion board is only available in the EDIUS NX Express package, it's not available as a separate purchase.
