PNCRT.dll

I have just installed the Edius Pro upgrade to 5.12. All went well with one exception. I now get a message that comes up quite often that "Unable to locate component. This application has failed to start because PNCRT.dll was not found, Re-Installing the application may fix the problem."

I can no longer play and view any video on any of my media players, ie Real Player or WMP. Does anyone have any idea what has happened. I suppose this .dll file has been wiped out of the Win Systems folder. What is the easiest way to correct this?

That is usually associated with RealPlayer. Try to reinstall RealPlayer

I have solved this problem by copying this file from another Windows System file on a different computer and pasting it into my Systems folder on my editing computer. Thanks anyway.

The problem with Real Player is that you cannot delete it from the computer as it is missing the .dll file and won't "Remove". That was going to be my first solution but it won't work.

One of the reasons I can't stand RealPlayer. Very hard to get rid of. In that case you might just try an install over top of it. Sounds like you found the easiest solution.
