my hardware set is DV storm NA, so if I don‘t use the box，just use the card. Can I implement 1394 capture from the interface on the card?

I met a instance yesterday that I use the 1394 interface in the card no response.When I use the 1394 interface in my motherboard, it take effect,but the video quality is bad -
Bad news... Storm is not 1394a :(
If you are capturing DV, Storm should work fine. It will not work for HDV. Depending on your system, your mainboard 1394a port should work for HDV.
