Removing effects from a number of clips

I've put a graphic equaliser effect on all my commentary clips throughout a 40 minute programme, but now I want to change to a different effect. What's the quickest way to remove the one, and replace it with the other please? I've tried highlighting them all but it doesn't seem to work and to do them one at a time will take some time!

highlight all clips and press alt+F to remove them all

highlight all clips and drag a new one, and it will be applied to all
