Given the Liquid is end of life, the so called Next Gen product is still in an uncertain state, and Avid is offering MC at a substantial discount to Liquid users:

Are there any current promotional incentives for folks who might be wiling to move to EDIUS as an alternative?

Any further news on a competitive upgrade to EDIUS from Liquid, or Premier Pro?

I have been told, though not officially, the cross grade will be 180 Euros in Europe.

A big disappointment is that it is the basic package only, no bundled software. I am assuming that the extra software is worth having?

I don't know if it is too late for Grass Valley to rethink the crossgrade.

Avid have just announced that if Liquid users buy the Media Composer upgrade from today, you will get version 5 free when released in June. OK this upgrade is more money, but look what you get in the package.

You can always by full version of EDIUS with all the thirdparty stuff included.

(Maybe you should look at a card/EDIUS bundle. Spark for example)
