  • Multicam mode issues

    Hi,

I'm in multicam mode with timecode sync. I shot two takes of one scene with two cameras, so I have 4 streams of video. Obviously the second take does not match in terms of timecode so I was just going to snyc the second take using visual cues. I've laid the whole day's takes out on the timeline and all the timecodes match perfectly. But when I take the second take and attempt to lay it under or over the 1st take on the timeline, the rest of the takes on the timeline come out of sync. Obviously I could just take the 1st and 2nd take and work with those on the timeline, but the nature of the project means it is far easier to have everything laid out all at once. I just don't know why it is coming out of sync. I've tried existing sync mode before moving the 2nd take but it does not make any difference.

If any of this is comprehensible to anyone, I'd really like to hear your thoughts!

    Thanks,

    Chris

Have you tried exiting Multicam, laying down your second takes and then entering Multicam again?

make sure that you assign another audio track before you drag the clip to timeline, if it the audio land on the previous audio track it could move them and make it out of sync.

          errrr...

feeling a little stoopid. It was in ripple mode. Once clicked out of that, things are just dandy.

          Thanks again chaps!

Ripple mode is a curse most of the time.

It was on when I first got Edius years ago and have not ever turn that thing on every since then.

Most people would like the default to be ripple off.

it's perfect when you are doing something simple and fast. Otherwise it can really play in your brain . . .
