I shot a motivational speaker on Saturday and he stipulated he wanted a copy in HD so he could edit promo pieces from the presentation. I filmed with a Canon A1 in HDV 1440x1080i. I imported for post production as native HDV (.m2t) files since I only needed to drop in a few power point slides. I have finished the SD DVDs but need to make HD files they can edit. The speaker said his editor needs QT files. My understanding is the Macs still have the 4gb file limit (feel free to correct me if I am wrong). Each session of the presentation was well over an hour so they will be way longer than 4gb. Can I easily convert them from m2t to mov files that will import easily on a Mac. I don't want to have to break them up in short segments and encode individually.
What is the best method to get these to mov files they can use. I really want to just send them the tapes and let them upload them however they want but if I can convert them it will save them 6 hours of uploading.
Any help is appreciated.
