  • What is ffdshow and what setting should I use?

I've gotten a ffdshow prompt a couple of times lately and am not sure what it is. It prompts me to either:

    don't use : once / always
    or
    use : once / always

What is this for and what should I be choosing? Thanks!

So... I should use what setting... Use + always...?

The explanantion tells me what it is but I'm not sure what option to choose next time it prompts me.

      Thanks!

You actually don't need it in EDIUS ...not an EDIUS problem .. :)
        The best fix uninstall.

If you have the latest version of Squeeze then it would have installed the ffdshow software....in which case you may need it.

Which still makes it a non EDIUS issue. :)

I would have to agree - any non standard codecs or packs stay well clear of my edit PC. I run a second cheap and cheerful PC next to my Edit suite to stick any files that need a specific codec in and re-encode them in there.

Just wondering, if I don't need it for Edius, why does it pop up when in Edius...? I can't remember exactly when it pops up as it seems to be random, however, I am in Edius when it occurs.
