  • some problems about exporting

    hi;
i am newly using edius5; and have some problems about it. First of all i cant export the timeline to a DVD. in 4.5 it was easy in pro coder wizard just to select DVD and it export video_TS and Audio_TS in this one i coudlnt find. Can your explain how i can please.
My other issue is, edius automatically import the movie to bin that i exported. So in the system it also creates another info file about the .mpeg movie ( someting like .ese2 ) i dont want that. How can i do that edius wont import the movie that it exports. I looked all the settings but i couldnt find.
    thnx anyway

in the export menu, choose "Burn to Disk"

it will make DVD with or without menu, the choice is yours, and you don't need to burn, you can select to just create the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS and burn later with the software of your choice
Compile and Burn to DVD or Blu-ray BD-R or BD-RE direct from Edius5 timeline

the ese2 is a search file required by edius in order to play the mpeg file, it can't be disabled

thnx for your answer, but "burn to disc" button is visible but not active, what would be the reason? thats why i tried to do it in export menu "mpeg2 pal for dvd" but it didnt work.

secondly i realized that ese2 is need to play in edius. my problem is edius import whole movies that i export. is there a settings that "do not import the movies to edius after export" Because after effects have something like that

        Hi Copy Paste

I think you might have the wrong project settings for the burn to disc option.......what are your project settings can you post them.

thnx a lot, yes that was the problem; my settings were

            Frame size : 720 x 576
            Frame rate : 25,00( 25/1 )
            Pixel aspect : 1,0667
            Field order : Progressive
            Audio
            Rate : 48000Hz
            Sample size : 16 Bit
            Channel : 2
            Setup
            Render format : Uncompressed(YUY2) AVI
            TC preset : 00:00:00:00
            TC mode :
            Total length : --:--:--:--
            Over Scan Size : 3 %
Audio Reference Level : -12,0 dB
            Panning mode : Standard
            Color space conversion : Standard

            i changed it to :

            Video
            Frame size : 720 x 576
            Frame rate : 25,00( 25/1 )
            Pixel aspect : 1,0667
Field order : Bottom Field First
            Audio
            Rate : 48000Hz
            Sample size : 16 Bit
            Channel : 2
            Additional Info
            DV, DVCAM
            DVCPRO50

now the burn to disk button is active.
i can also see the timeline in my monitor ( before it was problem) but now when i changed the project settings i cant hear the sounds.. i see the bars are moving but cant hear the sound...what would be the reason?

and last question is; does it make any difference to set to upper field or bottom field in the project settings?

if you can see the bars moving, you should hear the sound unless you muted it on the timeline?

can you hear sound when you double click clip in the bin and play it in preview window?

field order needs to be upper for DVD, but Edius will take care of it

so you can edit in lower or upper

are your source clips lower or upper? if DV or DVCAM clips, they are lower

nothing is mute on timeline, and i cant hear any voice neither in play preview if i click from timeline nor even if i click from bin. but the interesting thing is when i changed the settings and became mute there is a "star" sign "*" smtg like that appears next to timecode on overlay in the preview windows.

and my source video are from mini dv casettes, so i guess selecting lower field in the project settings are better

can you use windows explorer and double click one of the suspect files and listen for sound, if the sound is there, it has to be there in Edius

is your project setting generic OHCI or do you have hardware with your Edius?

my previous settings with progressive settings was "genereric OHCI SD PAL 720*576 25p over 50i" than i chosed "NHX E1 SD PAL 720*576 50i 4*3 DV" for interlaced settings to burn dvd, but now as i said i cant hear the sound.

and yes i have a card also in the pc for edius

but i dont know the details about it, i am not good at that much technical things :(

when you are using an NX preset, the amplifier and speakers need to be connected to the NX card

you can change your project setting to generic OHCI SD Pal 720x576 50i and then you will hear sound through PC speakers, but then you won't see a picture on your external monitor connected to the NX card

if you don't use an external monitor, then use Generic OHCI

the beauty about EDIUS is that you can change project settings in a matter of seconds

Or you can route your NX card's audio output to your normal sound card input - then you can hear the sounds if you use NX or generic OHCI SD.

well thnx a lot .... you are right thats my main problem to wanna see the timeline at monitor ( for color correction ) and to hear it also from pc... i will try to fix that problem with some cables and some converter. go out from card to pc and pc to speaker...

and u have any idea about how can i get rid off the movies not to import to edius again which i export. Because sometimes i had to export lots of movies from a single movie.... those ese2 files make the folder of the bin in windows really mess!!
