There was a 2.8Ghz P4 with HT....Like Angelo recommended, a system update would be vital if you can do it or have the money at the moment.

But if you're looking a bit more boost Core2Duo is the way to go, even the slowest Core2Duo will give you a big boost. For example with Edius when I upgraded from the 3.06Ghz HT CPU to a 2.4Ghz Core2Duo the performance doubled like going to a P4 6.12Ghz HT CPU!

Not even Memory will save you from this :)
Your processor doesn't seem to be HT (Hyper Threading).
I think it's time for an upgrade.
It's always good to get at least 2GB of RAM.

How much RAM reccomended for Edius 2.5
I posted earlier that Edius freezes in Edit mode during review of timeline. Looked at CPU useage and it goes to 90-100%. Am using 2.53 GHz pentium 4 processor with 1 GB RAM. I do not knowingly run additional applications at the same time. Is this way too little memory? What should I have to ensure no glitches or freezing. Thanks.Tags: None
