Just remember in the to turn on or check "Display clip marker in Player" in the MARKER menu. It may not be checked by default and you'll be wondering why it's not working.

Yes a bit like Vegas, where you can decide if the sequence markers ripple through with TL changes or not.
I agree totally with you Soundfreak. Edius is GREAT but could do with a small number of teaks which would make it truely outstanding.

When you do what Mike explains it will work the way you want it.
It's just a pain that you need to move the clip from the timeline to the player window, apply the marker, then move it back to the time lime, feels a bit lime Vista where in XP it could done in one click.
It would be great if clip and time line markers could be freely changed between the two in the marker palette, just a simple highlight of multiple markers and 1 click would change them, most of the time you need clip markers not timeline markers, I do understand that timeline markers are used for chapter markers at the authoring stage, but still, this implementation is not well refined.
I have to give credit where credit is due, Edius has some great features inside, but how I wish that I was head of engineering for a couple of months (with no hands tied to rules and restrictions) what great changes we would see :)Last edited by SoundFreak; 02-07-2010, 07:54 AM.

That is true. What I am actually doing is using the markers on the timeline to indicate where a transition is to be placed, an interview starts etc. Can these markers be made to relate to a clip so that, for example if I insert a clip, all the markers on the timeline will move with their respective clips and the marker table then shows the resultant effect. Maybe someone can suggest a better way of doing this i.e. indicating on the timeline where an action is to be carried out, and when done the markers on the timeline reflect the shange. Currently I have about 40+ locations marked, insert, delete, or lengthen a clip and all the markers are no longer accurate.

You can load the clips in the player window and add your markers to the clip there. That way your markers will be on the clips and stay with them rather than on the timeline :)

Can Time line markers be tied to clips?
In my current project I have over 40 markers on the time-line, every time a clip is modified i.e. shortened, lengthened, added or removed the relevance of the markers is lost and most, if not all, have to be re-positioned. This is very time consuming. Is there any way of attaching the marker to the clip so that as the clip is moved or modified the marker will also automatically move?Tags: None
