  • Hardware Settings for HD Monitor

I have a new HD monitor and have it hooked up the the component outputs of my EdiusNX + Exp. The picture looks fine but I was trying to make sure I had the right settings within Edius.

I looked in the helpfile and because the search is so poor (Is the helpfile going to be improved at all in 4.5?) I could not find a section on these settings. I currently have it set to SMPTE rather than Betacam (which I'm assuming is correct but can find no description of the settings). I also have it set to Multi-monitor with setup.

What's the difference between SMPTE and Betacam settings?

    Thanks!
    Sincerely,

    Mike Truly

OK, I found in the Hardware Settings Guide that I 'think' I have things setup correctly.

But for 'Component Level' it just says "Select component level in NTSC". Huh?

Nothing about SMPTE or Betacam meanings (I know what SMPTE is just not sure how it compares relative to Betacam). I'm sure SMPTE is correct for my situation but it sure would be nice if manuals and helpfiles were improved.

    Thanks!
