    Sorted, the timeline window was just a wee bit bigger than it should be.

    I bet ==> you have work in the past on two monitors ??
    and now, you work with one monitor??

    if it is so ==> try [Shift] + [Alt] + [L] ==> for the "default" Layout

      Thanks, well, your half right :)
      I still have two monitors. i must have enlarged the time Line window a tad to much by mistake somehow so a small portion of the window was missing.

        So once you have your layout just right, Look under GV >Layout>Save Current Layout>New and save it. Then the next time something is screwed up you can just restore the layout
