    sony mru not visible in windows 7

    Dear Forum,

    For editing in Edius I copy footage from CompactFlash to the PC Harddisk with the Sony Recording Unit via Firewire.
    This is no problem in XP, but in Windows 7 I can see the unit in computer properties, but can get no access.

    Can anyone help?

    Go into Device Manager and ensure that you are using the Legacy IEEE 1394a drivers.

      obviuously I don't. Where can I download Legacy Firewire driver?

        They are part of the OS, but Windows 7 tries to install the newer (non-legacy) drivers by default. Take a look at this thread:
