Lag behind? I don't know - keeping up with Microsoft's schedule is more than challenging.

Additionally, EDIUS has lots of features and lots of hardware configurations and drivers to update and test everytime a new OS comes out. Believe us, we do want to support the relevant OS's and users out there. But we also want to make sure that when we release, all features and all hardware has been tested - and we have to test for various flavors of XP, Vista and Windows 7.

As many point out, EDIUS does basically work with Windows 7, but some things are not quite working correctly. I understand this is typical for applications which already support XP and Vista - but have not necessarily been fully tested with Windows 7.

Maybe it's a shame, but it's reality. Windows 7 is a priority for us. So is stable software.

If it takes 12 months since Windows 7 RC1 comes out to get EDIUS approved, then yes, I'd say you lagged beind everyone else who already has their software supported.

I'm not angry, I accept it.

Print to DVD errors - Win 7

Since my earlier post about probs trying to MPEG2 files on my new Win 7 PC, I thought I'd give the Print to DVD function a go! Interesting results!

Firstly, it came up with the error saying it couldn't find the style files!?!

Then when i tried to make up a menu - any of the preset templates that had 4 chapters in the preview thumbnail, would only display a maximum of 3!

Finally, the sums for the MPEG2 didn't work out. For a 70 min file, it said it would only be 800MB (18% of the disk). Normally, on my XP machine I would expect it to be around 95% and auto change to fit the disk! Even when I manually put a compression rate (i estimate around 6mbs) it drops down to 14% capacity at 663MB!

And, you've guessed it, clicking on burn initates the burn to disc window, and it sits on the initializing counting up without it actually doing any encoding or burning!

I think I'll save this on a portable hard drive and create the DVD on my good trusty XP machine in the studio tomorrow!

actually - i was being stupid! It was referring to a different sequence not the one I had open! Nevertheless it still woudln't burn!

I've taken it to my XP suite in the office and burned the project successfully! Looking forward to the Win 7 version so I don't have to do the 20 mile round trip!!!
