There are no issues with HVX200 material and Edius -- I'm not sure where that came from. Progressive video will always look less smooth than interlaced video because it has half the effective temporal resolution.

Yep, like Steve said, it will look stuttery to your eyes if you're used to 30fps video. Most films look stuttery as well if you think about it.

You need to make sure that you use a 24p project setting for editing, or else dropping in a 24p file on a 30fps project will yield to a bad looking video.

Yeah i already know that. This is in addition to that, but it may just be my comp. is too slow. I just wondered if anyone knew of the 720p issue with Edius. I just looked through DVXuser's website again and I think they are referring to streaming 720 footage to your comp thru Edius. It locks up or something.

    Cheers

If you shot 24p the footage will be jittery on fast movement or pan or zooms. But that the nature of 24.

Dolly's, tracks are used for a reason:)

    Does not support 720p ???

    Hi

    I have Edius Broadcast 4 and a Panasonic HVX 200 P2camera.
I heard/read on DVXuser.com's website that there is an "issue" with Edius and 720p (30p or 24p, I forget). Is there any truth to this? My first project using Edius I shot in 720p/30p and it is a little studdery/jittery (see my previous post on here). Is this what they are referring to? Anyone know of this issue?

    Thanks
Working...
