You can always download ImgTool Classic to create an ISO from the DVD folder.

    No, just a "VIDEO_TS" structure

    is 3.0 pentium 4 enough

I know that Edius 4.0 ++ calls for at least a 3.0 pentium 4 machine...so I wonder if I'll run into any bottlenecks with my Pent 4, 3.0 machine when I upgrade from 3.62 to 4.5? Anyone out there using this old (NOT dual core) technology and running Edius 4 easily...I must say that 3.62 just hums along with my older machine and original Storm card and 1 mb memory.

IF I have to upgrade the machine, to run Edius 4.5, I won't bother installing the upgrade on the older one, but use it as a secondary machine.

Yes I have them both, I am interested what will happened if I install a trial serial number and use dongle. What role the serial mumber plays here?

No, I'm not saying that at all... and I definitely wouldn't be one to answer that... my question was different (but poorly worded :) )

But, to your question, It sounds like they were saying the trial plus your serial, plus your dongle will be exactly the same.... Just a way of having a fresh install.

But, you do need a dongle and a serial #. Serial # is for when you install (unless you want it for only 30 days). Dongle gives you the features (in my case broadcast features) and the ability to use the product. If I take my dongle out, I can't use EDIUS.... Dongle just *basically* goes in place of product activation. You have to have both.

    And, scratch my question.

Jason Ramsey, are you saying that trial+ right serial number+dongle is NOT EXACTLY the same as full version??? I believe that with broadcast dongle is suppose to work as broadcast one, or not?
BTW- if I have a dongle, what is the idea for serial number? What will happened if I will use the trial serial and dongle?

Concerning doing a fresh install of the trial version...

No problem with p2 functionality if I were to do that, aye? Just plug in my dongle, and it still works like before? I just seem to remember something about p2 functionality changing a bit in future releases for new purchasers....

    Thanks much,
    Jason

The trial should be launched at the same time as the update.

    Hi Mr Sparkle ,

This sounds like a good idea,
do you know when the trial will be ready for download ?

I am building a new system and would rather install a fresh full version of 4.5

    Thanks :)

To be honest, I don't know what the story is with (unofficial) support of DVRex in v4.5 - seeing that DVRex went off the radar with 4.00's launch, any use garnered out of the drivers has up till now, been on borrowed time.

If a driver installation of DVRex RT still sees EDIUS v4.5 failing to see it, then perhaps the long ride is finally at an end. Not bad for a hardware board that's almost ten years old.

the unofficial 4.5 removed DVREX on my system.

Not sure what happened when I installed 4.5 from the japanese site. It did have DVrexRT under Canopus Drivers but after install, I only had an option for OHCI.

I too would like to know if it will work. My RexRT worked fine on 4.24

Seems like if it is on the list during install, it should load the appropriate driver.

Hopefully 4.51 will... I guess only time will tell

I wouldn't probably asked if i wouldn't read "DVRex" on the right from 'Canopus DV Driver' during installation. I was surprised to see it there. And after - clearly - "DVrex-RT drivers" ets... So as far as Edius knows what its doing I decided to ask why it's not working after all. And also - Edius 4.5 installs!! drivers for DVrex (so it probably contains drivers inside maybe the wrong for DVrex but it has it) it just doesn't want to work with them. The same story with the native drivers for DVrex which are available from canopus site - Edius doesn't recognise them.
My question was only - will Edius 4.5(1) which knows what "DVrex" means work with DVrex or not... to spend my time on trying to make them friends or they know each other but will never work together... and really thanks for your answer I understand that DVrex is not supported by Canopus anymore.
Just to know if it will be possible with 4.51 at all or they are not compatible and that's it? For sure I will not ask any other qiuestions about DVrex+Edius 4.5(1) I need to know only if they can or can not work together.

    Thanks in advance.
