Are you planning to share a full downloadable file for 4.5(1) after Aug. 8? What I mean, I prefare if possible to use sigle installation instead of two installs- like 4.0+ update. Some companies (like ProDad e.t.c) provide an update with a full version, so you may chouse what to download.

It has varied from build to build during the testing phase - the latest one, which I expect to be the final build for next week, is a full installer. That would also explain the large size (450MB). Of course, this may change.

In any event, you can always wait for the 4.5 trial version - that is essentially a full version that you simply use your own serial number with, and plug your dongle into.

Clear system (winXP) just installed. DVrex-RT in it. Edius 4.5 - asks if I want to install drivers for it - i do. then all Edius installation then reboot, run Edius and then Edius don't have DVrex profile (preset) to chose only Generic output devices.
But drivers are installed perfectly after all - strange story...
any suggestions?

To the best of my knowledge, no v4.xx distribution of EDIUS contained DVRex RT drivers, so telling EDIUS to install the 'Canopus DV Driver' will do nothing for you - you need to obtain the DVRex drivers separately.

Remember - DVRex is not officially supported under v4.xx, so if something doesn't work, there's nothing that can be, or will be done about it.

As was stated previously, it does not include hardware drivers. The V4.51 release that's coming on August 8th does include them.

I'd be very surprised (and pleased for others) if Rex were supported under 4.51. But I wouldn't get my hopes up yet.

Yes. Don't use the V4.5 install from the Japanese site.

That is correct, but remember that EDIUS Broadcast and EDIUS Pro use the same core application - so there's stuff in EDIUS Pro that's "ready" for Broadcast - you just need the licenses..

I thought P2 and/or XDCAM where Edius Broadcast flavor only...

It's enabled in the current version. It applies only when there are P2 and/or XDCAM clips on the timeline that have not already had their hi-res essence downloaded.

In 4.24 under the "File" menu we now have "Proxy handling..." as a greyed-out option.

Will this be available in 4.5 or 4.51-ish?

The release of 4.5

I have been asked to announce that there will be a release of EDIUS 4.5 on the japan site on July 20th.

We know you are going to find it and announce it so we beat you to it. :)

You need to know a couple of things... If you DL it you do so at your own risk. It is not supported until it is officially released on the Canopus / Grass Valley site.

The release on the Japan site is SOFTWARE ONLY!! It doesn't have support for ANY hardware.

The release on the US site is going to be a short time later and I am going to tell ya... I would wait for it if I were you. :)
