I am looking for a software to be a composite "addon" to edius. Same like PremierePRO and AE. Boris and Combustion are good choices, the only problem with Boris is RGB format and not YUV.
Combustion has nice performance, good potential and... particles. It would be nice to have some integration with future version(s) of Edius...

AAF Support
Thanks for the good news re AAF import/export GV, as Pro Tools and After Effects are the two programs I am most interested in.

AAF has been tested with After Effects and Pro Tools, and that's it. It may support other applications though.
I just tried it and it is in Pro as well :)

I would love to see this also and have suggested it from an employee perspective (and I think I am not the only one) but like KH said... it is pure speculation and guessing at this point.

It may work its way into the next major release, but it's still speculative at best.

AAF support in Edius 4.5
Hello,

While it's maybe not quite so automated as you put it, v4.5 has a couple of handy new shortcuts for you to use (there's also buttons for some of these that you can stick on the timeline window).Attached Files

Will there be something like an auto audio crossfade function?
Should work like that: I choose two overlapping audio files eg on A1 and A2 and then a function (shortcut) sets the fade in and fade out according to the overlapping.

DVD Creator has been added (albiet tweaked) to v4.5, so it's essentially the same workflow.
And yes, you can use your own backgrounds.
