Was this in any way related to the tmpenc and Badaboom issue?
the Tmpeg and and Badaboom issue was caused by a graphics card setting, all works now

I have just got to say that these new Xeon w5590 CPU'S are very very quick, if anyone wants to spend almost $13,000, well worth it. also have windows 7 on now and running great.

The sound difference between my old supermicro system and the one George built for me is night and day. If you know any tricks for the supermicro (other than going to quite mode) let me know.

My machine is a little noisy when it starts up but then settles down, it is no noiser than my last machine. The only fans I can hear when it is running is the power supply fans, but they are two 1200watt redundant power supplys, and not very noisy, Because they have just been released by Supermicro they are sending me a Bios patch to quiten them down more, I will let you know what happens, but at the moment they are not that bad (really).

If you have Newblue FX on delete them and also if you have Flix exporter on (the lateset version) remove it as well.

I'm unconvinced NewBlue is causing the issue...
                          Mine work perfectly.
                          Maybe too much RAM

Nothing to do with ram, as soon as I removed the latest versions (retail) the problem went away, I put the versions on that came with Edius 5 and installed the latest updates from the Grass Valley site and is all working great.
