    Soft Borders Problem with 3d PIP

    Again, sorry for so many questions, but I can't seem to get the soft borders working with the 3D PIP-- is there a secret to making it work?-- the other functions seem fine--
    I don't know how I can thank everyone here for so much help-- truly appreciated---- Ed
    Main System- HD Storm + Edius 7 Pro
    Win 7 (64),Asus P6T Deluxe v2 - Intel I7 - 12 G ram Gforce GTX 970 - 6 T internal-- 12 T Drobo Sata connection

    Secondary System- Edius 6- Win XP, Intel DH55HC i5 4T storage, 4G ram, Gforce GTX 260, , ADVC110

      Click:
      use soft border to make it active (select it)
      then it will work

          I did-- I had used Edius 3 for some time, and there is somewhat of a learning curve here, and had used the soft border before in E3, but this doesn't seem to work at all- the other functions do-- any suggestions?-- again, many thanks, Ed

              Which version of EDIUS are you using?
              Because in 5.12 it works on all our systems

                  5.10-- a new system-- the I-7 processor/ HD storm w/firecoder and B/O box- 12G ram
                  Main System- HD Storm + Edius 7 Pro

                      Upgrade to 5.12. There where some issues with 3dpip in 5.10 for which there was a patch released. It is in the download area.
                      5.12 includes that fix and some other fixes.
                      Strange that you would build a new system an not use the latest available version of EDIUS.

                          IMPORTANT


                          3D Picture-in-Picture Hotfix for EDIUS v5.10
                          Windows XP / Windows Vista

                          This hotfix resolves known issues with soft borders, lighting and shadows when using the 3D Picture-in-Picture keyer within EDIUS v5.10. You will need to have installed EDIUS v5.10 prior to installing this update.

                          Important Note: Applying this hotfix will update EDIUS to v5.11. You will not be able to reapply the v5.10 update after installing this hotfix.

                          Important Note: If you are planning to install the EDIUS v5.12 update, you do not require this hotfix.

                              By the time I downloaded all the patches (there were SEVERAL) very large files, and got it working, I had enough of downloading!-- took forever-- but I guess I better do it now-- again, thank you -- I really apprecia

                                      Sorry to join the party late, but Steve is right. 5.11 came out to address that very issue. 5.12 has that included and more.
