  • Avchd question

I'm using a Canon HF s11 and I am a little confused about HD files and Edius.
Do I have to convert the AVCHD files before using them in Edius?

I placed a MTS file onto the timeline and I see it but playback is choppy. 1980 x 1080 at 24 mps. Do the files need to be rendered?

I have the lastest version of Edius on my laptop. Does anyone know what the system requirements are for software HD editing?

    Any suggestions would be helpful.

your mistake was to buy Edius 5 you should have bought Edius Neo.

Yes, at this time you need to download the utility to convert AVCHD (.MTS) to the Canopus HQ codec. This enables your processor to handle the video. AVCHD is compressed such that, in most cases, it is too great a burden on the processor.
