  • USB-dongle and EDIUS5

Shall I place the USB-dongle in my PC and let it stay there always,
or shall I take it out and only use it, when I make an Upgrade.

E5 runs without a dongle after the upgrade to 5.12!
Of course the upgrade requires the dongle to be present.

Will this mean that the USB-dongle is deleted and can not be used more ?

Anytime Edius is running or updated, the dongle needs to be present. This allows you to have Edius on a couple of machines and just plug in the dingle on the one that you will be using. Great for having it on a laptop in the filed and then using it on the main system back at the studio. You can transfer the license tot he machine from the dongle if you like, and then you don't need the dongle. However if you do this and something happens to your hard drive, you have to purchase a new copy of Edius. You can transer it to the machine and then back to the dongle using the License Manger.
