  • Change background colours of Edius Pro 3

    Hi all,

I feel the background colours of Edius Pro 3 are, well, hideous. I have a black background, and the labels of the various program items are grey-on-black, black-on-darkgrey, green-on-black etc. In one word: when the light circumstances are not so good (as is the case in the place where I work), Edius is a pain on the eyes.

Question: can I change the background colours of Edius Pro 3, and if so, where can I do this?

    Thanks so much!!

    Ludo

(come to think of it: this forum suffers from the same problem: what is wrong with good old black-on-white???)

      Thanks for the reply.

In other words: how a good program can become unusable by a stupid colour choice. Do video specialists never read usability recommendations? * Sigh * OK, where is my "Delete" button...

Can the colour choice at least be overruled in more recent versions of Edius??

          yes and no

E4 lets you change interface color a little bit

I am hoping that in the future it will become what "speed razor" was 13 years ago where you could customize every color of every tiny bit of the interface to be any color on the planet

Anton. I hope you are only refering to the GUI colours. I would hate Edius to adopt some of SR's other "features"!!

I think Anton is indeed only referring to the awful interface colours - after all, that's what this thread is all about. Personally, whenever I see white-on-black, there's a bell ringing: "This is wrong." It causes after-images, it's very hard to work with in less than perfect light circumstances, and it's simply plain ugly. I think Edius is a very decent program, but I cannot comprehend why so much work is spent on a program to have it simply demolished by a bad colour scheme.
