  • Audio speed problem with Captured Video

I am using using Edius 3.62 NX on a dual Xenon PC.

Whenever I capture video from my Canon GL-1 (digital capture) the audio slows down in spots and then goes back to normal. This happens when you play back the file on the editing tracks or if you play the file by itself.

I orignally had ver 3.1 and was instructed by tech support to upgrade to 3.62 to resolve the problem. The problem still exists. I have tried just about every combination of settings to no avail.

When I capture video from the same camera to my DVStorm2 system, the audio plays back fine.

    Any ideas?

    Funny
I have noticed that sometimes if its the last frames of a tape the
end of the capture seems to indicate a huge gradual speed drop in sound which i have
to hide by fading sound (picture does not slow down) Using 3.62 also
present whhen i was on 3.61

Just to make sure, you both recorded to and are capturing from the same tape in the GL-1, right?

Is the GL-1 an older type camera?

I seem to remember audio sync problems with edius when the Canons were first released. Never worried me until I hired a cameraman with a Canon, then on long captures on a concert video, I struck the sync problem

There was a Canon patch for it, if this is your problem.

        Cheers Vaughan
