Depends which view you're in. In threaded view, posts are grouped under which ones they are replying to.

1) Many users post problems with no reference to the Edius Version they are using or referring to. So much that maybe it needs to become 'mandatory' to list your app vers in your signature. (and to refer to the app version you have an issue with if it is otherwise when posting a problem or a response to a problem)
I think this is a good idea... it would be very nice if everyone placed their version into the signature of their post.

I try to quote most of the time for this very reason. This is a little harder to get people to do.

It is getting very hard to know what is going on.

Currently some members give no indication in the post or thread what app version they are referring to makjing things quite confusing with so many Edius variants around and being referred to.
2) I quite often find it difficult to know which post posted by a user refers/is a response to any other previous posts made in a thread.
Would posters like to do the courtesy of naming the original poster if not quoting from them when they respond?

I lowered it to three characters, but it seems that the database doesn't want to index three character words. Needs further inspection.
As for two character searching - not really keen on allowing that - it'd expand the database far too much, indexing all words two or more characters in length (three is bad enough, but we live in an age of TLAs).
The Google solution above should work with strings that feature a two character word.

I think the search term actually must be at least 4 characters

You can always use Google to perform this search using the following search term:
"3D Text" site:ediusforum.grassvalley.com

Search Phrase Less Than 3 Characters
I am searching for the phrase "3D Text". The forum search engine believes I am searching for "3D" only and reports that searches less than 3 characters cannot be processed.

search not work ?
when at the Forum Index, I did a Search Entire Posts, Search All Open Forums, with no other restrictions on the search, for "mxf" and got no matches, which is incorrect – search on “xdcam” and you will see what I mean – doesn’t matter whether I select to Show Results as Threads or Posts
anyone else get this? -- is a 3 letter word too short to search on?

I don't think there is a reply button for PMs. Just click on the name and select send PM.
