Why you want to copy footage to a portable drive? Just take the P2 cards and stick into a reader (PCMCIA) and read it off from there. No need for portable HDD at all.

A work around is to just drag the "CLIP" folder into the bin's folder view column. You may need to adjust/move your window sizes/layout to see the external drive and the folder bin on your desktop at the same time.

Make a new folder, put the contents folder in there. Select the root of the contents folder. If it is still not letting you load that folder, something must have been done with the content folder structure.

Go into the Content folder and under Video, load all the .mxf clips from EDIUS.

Downside is, the audio will not load, you have to load it manually and sync it.

When you get files from P2 devices, always make sure to copy the whole ROOT of the contents folder, including lastclip.txt. This is very important.

Thanks for the fast response. When I highlight the drive letter the ok is still grayed out. Even if I highlight the folder that the content floder is in the ok is still grayed out.

Select the drive instead of the contents folder in P2 Select and the OK will appear.

    started a topic P2 Select

    P2 Select

We have some files that were transferred from a P2 card to a portable Hard drive. The content folder has all 6 sub folders that it needs. We have a bunch of folders for each clip. But when I start the p2 select and click on add folder the ok button is grayed out. It does not show all the thumb nails in the window.

Any help on this matter, thanks in advance,

    Kent
