  • stuck in upgrade to 5.10

I have been successfully using Edius 5.12 on one machine for some months. It upgraded from 5.0 to 5.10 and then to 5.12 without a hitch.

I have 5.0 on a laptop and have tried to update to 5.10 (an then will go to 5.12) all afternoon, with no success. I download all the 8 files to upgrade to 5.10 and during installation it tells me that file #6 is corrupt or can't be recognized...Anyone else seen this?
I have tried downloading the file 3 times with the same result. The downloaded file says its 200 mb which seems right.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I did download mine without problems a long time ago.
Where is the file you used to install the previous machine ?

I can't remember if it where .zip or .rar files but I would assume that GV would be smart enough to include a archive repair overhead into the file.

If you use WinRAR you can "repair" the archive (if it was included), give that a try.

p.s. did you download with a download manager ? (use it !), if Firefox, Safari or IE pulls a file in, sometimes it "misses" some of the data and just tells you the file is complete, while it's actually not.

I got it..It was a corrupted download...I noticed it pausing during the download and saw my download speed was very slow. I changed machines, and downloaded on a faster connection, put it on a disc and copied to my laptop and then all went well.

I could use a little instructions. I installed 5.01 from the disk and have downloaded all 8 of the files. When I click on install, I can see all the files being extracted, including the rar files, but than nothing happens. I've tried clicking on setup in the 1st file, but nothing seems to happen. I've opened Edius each time, but it is still at 5.01.

        What am I doing wrong?

        Thanks

The instruction are right on the download page you must have missed it?

          1. Download EDIUS5UPD_v510.part01.zip, EDIUS5UPD_v510.part02.rar, EDIUS5UPD_v510.part03.rar, EDIUS5UPD_v510.part04.rar, EDIUS5UPD_v510.part05.rar, EDIUS5UPD_v510.part06.rar, EDIUS5UPD_v510.part07.rar, EDIUS5UPD_v510.part08.rar to your local harddisk drive
added note******(use winrar or 7 zip to extract)
          2. Extract the EDIUS5UPD_v510.part01.zip file into a specific folder (e.g. C:\DLFiles)
          3. Unpack the EDIUS v5.10 package by running the file EDIUS5UPD_v510.part01.exe from the specific folder (C:\DLFiles)
          4. Update EDIUS v5 by running the file SetupManagerForEDIUS.exe from the folder that you unpacked the package to

Don't forget to extract the RAR fist only do the first one 7 zip or winrar will find the others
