  • Grouping clips

Hi folks I have been sorting through hundreds of clips shot from multiple cameras and angles in a project and rough cutting and adding to the timeline, for convenience I have been using the group function to lock these edits together by subject and colour coding them.....the idea is to make it easy to move them around as I fine tune the edit....so far so good.

However I just tried using the delete gap function with a group to quickly move it down the timeline and it did not work as I expected.....the group consists of 2 video tracks & 2 audio tracks....the group moved except that the clips did not stay in their respective trackwise positions within the group.

What I mean is each layer within the group shot down its respective track to the first down stream clip thus breaking the grouping....is this how it should function?....it just seems odd that trackwise the group would break aprart relatively speaking.

    Dave.

Do you have Sync Mode On? Sounds like it is off

Yes sync mode keeps the clips together but also moves other stuff I dont need/want to move......just in my thinking the nature of a grouped set of clips means they retain thier grouping in ralation to each other when moved.....I guess not....seems odd to me.

      Thanks
